Joseph M. Webb has worked professionally in all aspects of journalism and media. He has taught all aspects of the profession more than three decades at numerous colleges and universities, including Pepperdine University, California State University (Northridge, San Bernardino), and Southern Illinois University. He has founded and administered media programs at two Christian institutions, Milligan College in East Tennessee and Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida.
In addition, his academic work has been largely in applying communications to the process of Christian preaching, following five years of teaching homiletics at the Claremont School of Theology. He is the author of several books on preaching. He has been active in the National Academy of Homiletics and was elected president of the Academy for 2008. He joined the faculty at Gardner-Webb University in 2007.
