Lawrence A. Q. Burnley is Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Dayton. An ordained Disciples of Christ minister, he previously served as Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Assistant Professor of History at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, and as Associate Dean for Multicultural Programs and Special Assistant to the Provost for Diversity Affairs at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. He is President and cofounder of Inclusive Engagements, LLC, and has facilitated seminars and workshops on a biblically based understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, inter/cross-cultural dialogue, and critical reflection on ministry. An author and contributing author to several books, Burnley is married to Naima. They and their son Thulani are members of First United Christian Church in Xenia, Ohio.
